Introduction

Toronto Island in Lake Ontario is a member of a chain of small islands. It features sweeping lawns and white sandy beaches. Motor vehicles are not allowed on the island, but bike and boat rentals are available. It is known as a true "paradise" full of greenery, bird song, and floral scents. Visitors can enjoy the beach, have a picnic, ride bikes and canoes for fun. In addition, there is a large summer amusement park on the island. The ferry from the southern end of Bay Street to the heart of the lake only takes about ten minutes.
