Introduction

Paul, originally known as Saul, was an anti-Christian. He was sent to capture Christians in Damascus, but on the way, he saw the risen Jesus and he obeyed Jesus teaching. This experience completely changed his faith and life. He changed his name to Paul and began to devote himself to spreading Christianity, especially to the Gentiles. His contribution was recognized as significant, even as important as Peter's. However, in AD 64, Emperor Nero falsely accused Christians of arson, and Paul was executed with Peter. Today, Paul's site is located outside the Church of Saint Paul, which was ordered to be built by Constantine the Great. Although the church was damaged in 1823, it was rebuilt in 1854. The statue of Saint Paul, the 19th-century mosaic, and various magnificent columns and ceilings make this place very spectacular. In addition, on the south side of the church, there is a monastery connected, which contains beautiful columns and mosaics that can make people feel the medieval style.
