Introduction

The Spanish Steps is an outdoor staircase in Rome, connected to the Spanish Square, with the Church of Trinità dei Monti located at the top. The staircase has 135 steps and was funded by the French Bourbon dynasty with the inheritance of a diplomat to Vatican City from 1723 to 1725. It is undoubtedly one of the longest and widest staircases in Europe.
