Introduction

The castle was initially built during the Roman period as a fortress. During the Muslim rule in 1057, it was rebuilt into a palace castle. Internally, it was surrounded by two layers of walls and preserved the remains of three Islamic-style courtyard palaces. These palaces were decorated with small fountains, horseshoe-shaped arches, and geometric patterns, and even after hundreds of years of wind and rain, the magnificent heritage of Islamic culture can still be seen.
