Introduction

One of the most famous sports in Spain is bullfighting, and the Plaza de Toros de Ronda is the pilgrimage site for bullfighters. As the oldest bullring in Spain, the Plaza de Toros was built in 1785 and can accommodate up to 5,000 viewers with 136 Tuscan-style columns. Many well-known bullfighters such as Pedro Romero and Antonio Ordonez have fought to live or die on this historic site. Previously, bullfighting was an exclusive activity for the nobility, who participated in bullfights on horseback. However, this activity gradually opened to the public, marking a new era for the Plaza de Toros de Ronda, where bullfighters fought on foot. The site has an attached museum that houses many historical artifacts, including the bullfighting suit worn by the famous bullfighter Antonio Ordonez. It is important to preserve this historical monument, and bullfights only take place on special occasions for visitors' convenience. From March to October, visitors can watch Spain's most representative bullfighting events here.
