Introduction

The St. Nino Church was built in the 1230s and has significant religious historical significance. According to legend, the guardian goddess of Georgia, St. Nino, lived here, and the church served as both a church and a convent. King Mirian III and his queen Nana ordered the nation to convert to Christianity and were buried in the cathedral, suppressing the pagans. The St. Nino Chapel outside the church is located where St. Nino prayed, representing the historical significance of faith and prayer.
