Introduction

According to one account, it was a new city built here by the Romans after their occupation of Paris, called the "Latin Quarter" because the Romans spoke Latin. The Latin Quarter used to be a popular place for students due to its affordable prices and was a gathering place for various higher education institutions, bookshops, shops, and restaurants. Now it is one of the most expensive areas in Paris and also a hub of luxury and fashion, with many famous patisseries. The center of the district is the Sorbonne University, attracting many students and various higher education institutions. There are also some famous attractions nearby, such as the Church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Pantheon, and the Café de Flore.
