Introduction

In 1482, Ulm built a city wall to defend against foreign invasions, which has now become a popular tourist attraction. The wall runs along the Danube River, extending from the picturesque Fisherman's Quarter to Friedrichsau Park. The wall is not tall, with a width of only about two meters and a height of three to four meters. Below the wall is a green lawn, providing a relaxing space for visitors. The wall is also an ideal place to admire the beautiful view of the Danube River, and there are several restaurants and cafes for tourists to take a break. Additionally, two observation towers, the Butcher's Tower and the Goose Tower, are preserved on the wall. The Butcher's Tower leans about 3.3 degrees to the northwest, hence the name "Ulm Slanting Tower."
