Introduction

The Olympic Stadium in Berlin was built in 1936 for the Berlin Olympics, and it was slightly damaged during World War II. After the war, it became the headquarters for the British military in Berlin. Today, the venue is primarily used for football matches and serves as the home stadium for the German Bundesliga team Hertha BSC. The stadium has hosted the FIFA World Cup final in 1974 and 2006, and it is also the venue for the annual German DFB-Pokal final.
