An important cultural heritage in Taiwan
4.2

Introduction

Along the pioneering road towards the southeast direction, you can reach Yanping Prince Temple. This temple, built during the reign of Emperor Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, is the earliest and most famous Zheng Chenggong temple in Taiwan, also known as "Zheng Chenggong Temple" by the locals. The famous Minnan Fujian-style temple architecture is quite rare among many buildings in Taiwan. Walking west to Qingnian Road, you will reach Taiwan's earliest official-built Fucheng Temple. When you step into the temple, you will be struck by the horizontal plaque with the three characters "You have arrived," which clearly tells you that you will eventually come to this place. Fucheng Temple is also an important spiritual sanctuary for students. During the exam season every year, there is always a bustling atmosphere with the photocopy of admission tickets placed before the "examination office" and the "merit office."
