Introduction

Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is a landmark building in Taipei, designed by renowned architect Wang Dahong in 1972. It features a palatial Tang Dynasty-style design, blending traditional and modern architectural elements. Visitors usually arrive on the hour to witness the impressive changing of the guard ceremony performed by the honor guard of the Republic of China Armed Forces, and can also admire calligraphy by Sun Yat-sen. The memorial hall focuses on exhibitions about Sun Yat-sen's contributions to both the Republic of China and Taiwan. In addition to the exhibitions and performances inside the hall, the surrounding plaza is a popular recreational spot for Taipei residents, often filled with students practicing street dancing. The plaza also offers a great vantage point for capturing photos of Taipei 101.
