Kula Gardo š, Panoramic Views of Zemun and Danube

Beograd, Zemun, Grobljanska
The rural scenery in the small town is more beautiful than that on the tower
4.3

Introduction

Gardoš Tower is located in the Zemun district of Belgrade, which was once an independent city and therefore retains its own city center and old town area. Built in 1896, Gardoš Tower is part of the massive fortress of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, with the other parts now in ruins. Due to Hungarian rule, the architectural style of Gardoš Tower and the old town of Zemun is quite different from the old town of Belgrade. From Gardoš Tower, visitors can overlook the panoramic view of Zemun's old town, the Danube River, and the distant Belgrade district. At the same time, there are numerous restaurants and bars along the Danube River for tourists to enjoy the beautiful Danube River views and taste fresh river fish dishes.
