Introduction

The statue of Hachiko, which was erected in front of Shibuya Station in 1934, has made the area a popular gathering spot for dates and other activities. Despite being hidden amongst the crowd, Tokyo residents still have a deep affection for Hachiko. Some people often dress the statue in fashionable clothes or colorful scarves, and even build small snow heaps for it to enjoy during winter snowfalls. Hachiko's story has been featured in multiple movies, and in reality, its name has become a symbol for one of the exits of Shibuya subway station, making it one of the most unique landmarks.
