The most dangerous section of the climb up Mount Tai is the renowned Eighteen Bends. It holds great importance in Mount Tai and is also one of the most sought-after attractions by tourists. The Eighteen Bends consist of over 1600 steps, with the first 393 steps called Slow Eighteen Bends, the middle 767 steps known as Not Slow Not Fast Eighteen Bends, and the last 473 steps described as Extremely Dangerous Tight Eighteen Bends. Climbing the Eighteen Bends requires intense concentration, and the entire climb can be likened to "stepping on the heads of the people before and being stepped on by the feet of the people behind," making it quite strenuous.
