Introduction

Jinshanling Great Wall is a section of the Great Wall built along mountain ranges, located about 130 kilometers from downtown Beijing. It was built under the direction of Qijiguang, a famous general who fought against the Japanese during the Ming Dynasty. The wall has been well-preserved, allowing visitors to experience its antiquity and purity. Visitors can choose to take a cable car from Hanlongou to reach the mountaintop and then start hiking for about an hour, or they can start from Zhuanduokou and walk from west to east to enjoy the beautiful and spectacular scenery along the way. At the eastern end of the wall, visitors can enter the Simatai Great Wall and visit both places. There are several famous viewpoints overlooking the mountains, which are ideal for taking photographs. Visitors can also admire the text bricks on one end of the wall, which record the manufacturer and time of the bricks and are very precious. In recent years, Jinshanling Great Wall has become a popular place to watch the sunrise and sunset. There are several farmhouses and hotels nearby where visitors can stay, making it convenient for photography. Overall, Jinshanling Great Wall is an excellent choice for visiting the Great Wall in the suburbs of Beijing, taking about half a day and requiring a day or so to travel from downtown Beijing.
