These six small villages in China are simple, peaceful, and picturesque. They are known to few people, and one could spend a lifetime searching for them!

China is vast and diverse, there are always places that you cannot reach and landscapes that you cannot see. Today, I will continue to introduce to you those unknown and lesser-known small villages.

Beijing Miyun Ganyu Valley Village

The village of Ganyu Gou in Miyun District of Beijing is located at the foot of the Great Wall. This village, which has been battered by wind and rain for two hundred years, is simple and quiet. Now, with the emergence of a large number of 'hollow villages', it has been transformed into a homestay. Each household has its own independent wall, with courtyards large and small. Through the walls, you can see the beautiful mountain scenery. Two kilometers along the mountain road, there is the wild Great Wall, where you can enjoy a broad view. In the mountains, you can pick up fallen hawthorn berries. Living in such a village is like returning to my hometown, where my relatives and neighbors live in harmony.

Henan Xinmi Tianzhongwan Village

This place is known as the best-preserved battlefield site of the Anti-Japanese War in Henan province. The Eighth Route Army's prelude detachment in western Henan, led by Commander Pi Dingjun and Political Commissar Xu Zirong, carried out anti-Japanese and patriotic work here, making their due contribution to the victory of the war. Nowadays, the villagers promote poverty alleviation through red tourism, hoping that more people will come here to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Fuxi Mountain and the simple and honest people in the old area.

Tarp slope in Linfen, Shanxi.

The Yunqiu Mountain in Shanxi is scattered with many ancient villages, such as Ta'erpo, which has a poetic name and exudes a heavy and simple charm. The ancient locust trees on the edge of the village prove that the village has at least a history of over a thousand years. In front of the village, there is a murmuring stream flowing down from Quanergou, and stone steps connect the courtyards in the village. The ancient persimmon trees stand by the ditch, forming a paradise on earth.

Sichuan Ganzi Zhengdou Village

The village of Zhengdou belongs to Zhengdou Township, Cheng County, Ganzi Prefecture. This is a Tibetan village mainly engaged in animal husbandry. The traditional Tibetan houses at the bottom are generally used to raise livestock. The small village is neat and clean, with beautiful scenery. It is said that the villagers are relatively wealthy, and some dowries can reach millions of dollars.

Ningxia Jingyuan Jingguang Village

Jingguang Village, Jingyuan County, is located in the core area of Liupan Mountain. Our ancestors migrated here from Weinan, and now the water of Jing River kisses the faces of the villagers. We are deeply nostalgic for our hometown and its customs. The Village History Museum displays old items used by the villagers, which prove the historical footprint of our ancestors, condense the social changes in the village, and preserve the memories and yearning of the local people that are hard to forget.

Longde Hongya Village, Ningxia

Walking into the old alley of Hongya Village in Longde County, the village is rich in local flavor with its garden lake, rural stage, old houses, old mill, and old water well. The rural tourism here preserves the life of the indigenous people, that is, the culture and soul, allowing themselves to develop better and enabling more people to integrate into the local life and experience the authentic folk culture of Guyuan.
