Introduction

Located in the northeastern end of the old town of Kashgar, the Gao Tai residential area is an excellent place to experience the ancient pulse of Kashgar. It has been inhabited by Uyghur people for generations, and their houses built along the cliffs have been connected to form the present scale. Among them, the maze-like alleys crisscross, like a huge maze, making people unable to help getting lost. Gao Tai residential area is not only a palace of Uyghur handicrafts, but also an important place for beautifying the environment, carving and painting arts. Both domestic and foreign tourists flock here, calling it the "living folk museum of Uyghur culture". It carries the connotation of Kashgar, a famous historical and cultural city in China.
