Introduction

Most visitors to Santiago de Compostela come for the pilgrimage, especially to visit the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. This cathedral combines both Romanesque and Baroque styles, and is said to contain the tomb of James the Apostle, one of Jesus' twelve disciples, fulfilling the expectations of many visitors. The Pórtico de la Gloria and the Altar Mayor are both worth a close look.
