Introduction
House of the Blackheads is a building in the Old Town of Riga, the capital of Latvia. It was built in 1344 and belonged to the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, a guild of unmarried German merchants in Riga. On June 28, 1941, it was bombed by German planes and turned into ruins. In 1948, the remaining part was demolished by the Soviet government. The House of the Blackheads was rebuilt from 1995 to 1999 and became one of the most magnificent buildings in the Old Town. Countless people stop here every day to take pictures. Currently, the interior is closed and is planned to reopen within 15 years. Address Ratslaukums 7, Riga
