The Old Museum and the Tito Mausoleum

Introduction

The Yugoslav History Museum consists of three parts: the Flower Pavilion (Tito's Mausoleum), the Old Museum, and the May 25th Museum. The May 25th Museum has a total area of 3,480 square meters and is used for temporary exhibitions. The Old Museum contains valuable gifts that various foreign leaders and Yugoslavian society gave to Tito. The Flower Pavilion not only has Tito's grave, but also a permanent exhibition about his life. In the center of the Flower Pavilion, above Tito's marble tomb, there are three lines of gilded letters that read "Josip Broz Tito, 1892-1980." Located south of the Belgrade Central Station, the Yugoslav History Museum is undoubtedly an important venue that reflects the history and culture of Yugoslavia.
