Introduction

St. Anne's Church is located in the old town of Vilnius, Lithuania. It is one of the few churches in Lithuania that is entirely constructed of red brick and is a masterpiece of Gothic style. The church was originally built with a wooden structure, but was destroyed in 1419. Later, between 1495 and 1500, it was rebuilt entirely with red brick. The church is 22 meters high and 10 meters wide, with 33 different shapes of brick used for the exterior walls alone. The entire church is evenly laid out, with harmonious tones, like a splendid pattern composed of lines and corner towers. Napoleon was attracted by the exquisite beauty of St. Anne's Church when passing through this place on his expedition to the east, and even wished to take it back to Paris. The complex structure of the church, with its main tower and several small buttresses, is impressive. For over 500 years, the exterior structure of St. Anne's Church has remained unchanged, unlike other Vilnius churches that have undergone multiple reconstructions and expansions. As one of the "small and beautiful" churches in the old town of Vilnius, St. Anne's Church is a must-visit attraction.
