Introduction

The Twelve Apostles stone pillars located within Campbell Harbor National Park are the most famous attraction on the Great Ocean Road. These huge pillars were originally discovered with 13 different-shaped pillars standing amidst the waves of the Southern Ocean. As their shapes resembled the twelve apostles in the Christian Bible, they were named "The Twelve Apostles." The pillars are made of limestone and stand at a height of up to 45 meters. Despite the fact that five pillars have collapsed due to immersion and erosion by the sea, they still remain a marvel of nature, bringing awe and admiration to people. The best time to see them is during sunrise and sunset. Standing on the observation deck, admiring the panoramic view and feeling the salty sea breeze, you can experience the wonders of nature. The park is free to enter and has a visitor center and basic facilities such as restrooms. There are many observation decks in the park where visitors can admire the spectacle from different angles. Due to the fragile geological structure of the area, safety precautions should be taken, and warning signs are placed in dangerous areas, so visitors should stay in the safe zone. It is recommended to take photos on clear mornings and evenings.
