The Taiwu Ski Resort is located in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, northwest of Beijing, 220 kilometers from Beijing. The resort is a large integrated skiing and vacation area, and is the core area for snow competition events in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
The Taiwu Ski Resort sits at the top of Chongli's main peak, Yushiliang, with an elevation of 2160 meters, and an absolute drop of 510 meters. The area has 150 days of long snow periods and a pleasant climate with an average annual temperature of 4.2 degrees Celsius. Located in the same north latitude 40-50 degree zone as world-renowned skiing vacation destinations such as the Rocky Mountains and the Alps, it is a world-renowned "mountain vacation" gold zone.
