Introduction

This landmark building in Tianjin is a city sculpture built to celebrate the new century in 1999. It is located at the bridgehead of Jiefang Bridge in the Hebei District and is a beautiful scenic spot in the city. The square is located on the north bank of the Haihe River, next to Tianjin Railway Station, and has a very large mechanical clock that attracts many tourists to take photos and commemorate. The mechanical clock is constructed of all-metal materials and features bronze reliefs of the twelve zodiac signs on its surface. The long pole, gear, and base form a perfect temporal and spatial shape. This sculpture is elegant and timeless in its solemnity, symbolizing another important stage of development for Tianjin, an old industrial city, in the course of history.
