Difficulty ranking of hiking spots in Hawaii

The ones listed here are all easy for girls and have beautiful scenery. If you want to take beautiful scenery without too much physical effort, you can try these hiking trails.

East of Oahu, Lanikai area

The unique shallow blue mixed with emerald green color of the sea on the east side of Oahu Island adds a lot of character to the Pillbox hiking trail. The first 10 minutes of the climb are relatively steep, and if necessary, you can hold onto the nearby tree trunks and walk slowly. However, except for rainy days when it can be slippery, most of the time it is not too difficult. After the first 10 minutes, you will reach the halfway point where you can already see the beautiful Lanikai Beach and two small islands called the Mokes.

South East corner of Oahu Island, Hawaii Kai area

This hiking trail is a very local attraction. Basically, only locals come here. Although it takes 4 hours, the route is mostly flat. Along the way, you will pass through different types of forests and, halfway through, you can see a distant view of Hawaii Kai. When you reach the last 20 minutes, there will be a section of stairs. From there, the scenery becomes spectacular. Once you reach the mountaintop, the view is even more amazing! The view stretches from Diamond Head in the south to Rabbit Island in the east, covering a quarter of Oahu's land.

Central Oahu, aiea area

The Aiea Loop is a very pleasant hiking trail. The official claim is that it takes three hours to complete. The entire route is a relatively flat forest trail, with hardly any strenuous sections. However, after a rain, certain portions of the trail may become slippery and muddy. Since the entire trail is within the forest, it remains quite cool throughout the hike. It is a suitable hiking trail for those who want to spend some time outdoors but are feeling lazy. Along the way, there are many strange and unique trees, with upside-down tree roots, giant tree branches hanging mid-air, and even a natural tree circle.

West of Oahu Island, ka'ena area

This is also a very easy walking-like mountain trail. But it is a very worthwhile place to take pictures. At the westernmost point of the island, there is a seaside road left many years ago, but because it has been closed for a long time, it is now basically a very bumpy dirt road. But because the whole journey is along the seaside, and there are many spots where you can take very beautiful coastlines and seaside rocks. And on the way, it is also a place for sea lions to take a nap.

East of Oahu, Makapu'u area

Special note that this Tidepool is accessed via Makapu'u Lighthouse hiking trail. The difficulty level is not as difficult as the earlier segment of the Light House trail. Starting from the entrance of the Tidepool, there is no designated path and one must navigate the rocks themselves. There are many small stones, so it is recommended to climb slowly to avoid slipping and rolling down the mountain.
