Five must-do things on your first visit to Bruges

When people think of Belgium, they often think of Bruges. Canals run through the town like a string of pearls, earning it the nickname "Venice of the North". With cobblestone paths, brick archways, stone churches, and picturesque bridges, it's nearly impossible to take a bad photo. Swans on the water, horse-drawn carriages in the park, and daffodils in bloom make it almost magical.

The Royal Beguinage of the Vineyard

If you wake up early, you can enjoy tranquility in the quiet beguinage. Arriving before the crowds at 10 am will give you extra enjoyment, allowing you to absorb the atmosphere as expected. The nuns' walls are a quiet, respectful oasis, with tree-lined canals, white, gable-roofed houses, and a simple church. The central green square is covered with tulips in spring, adding a reflective and peaceful atmosphere.
Choco-Story Chocolate Museum allows visitors to immerse themselves in the history of cocoa and chocolate: from the Maya civilization to the Spanish conquistadors, and up to modern chocolate connoisseurs. Children can enjoy chocolate hunting in the museum. Handmade chocolates are available for tasting in the shop. Want to make your own chocolates? Join the open workshop on Saturday afternoons at 2 o'clock. After visiting the museum, we highly recommend the nearby Choco Jungle Bar, just 200 meters away, for a chocolate drink.

Belfly sprl

This medieval bell tower, built in the 13th and 15th centuries, is tilted and leans one meter to the east. The bell tower measures 83 meters in height and offers a magnificent view of the quaint town below. If you so choose, you can climb the steep and narrow 366 steps to the top, an experience that may not be suitable for the faint-hearted as the stairs get smaller and higher. Information about the bell tower and its working bells can be found throughout several centuries, ringing every four hours and offering a chance to catch your breath on multiple levels during the challenging ascent.
