Underground nuclear factory 816
The 816 underground nuclear factory combines the magical, mysterious, and sacred elements, making it the most special and symbolically significant legacy resource of the Third Front Construction. It can also be considered the closest red tourism resource to us. Professor Yu Kongjian, a renowned landscape architect and director of the Peking University Institute of Landscape Architecture, compares it to the combination of deep mountains and hills and says it can rival the Three Gorges Dam. After detailed investigation and evaluation by several academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it is believed that the 816 military cavern is the largest man-made cavern in the world among the decrypted artificial caverns.
