Introduzione
Situated in Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province, at the intersection between the Loess Plateau and Inner Mongolia Plateau, the Mu Us Desert, and the Ordos Basin, the Red Lake Alkaline Lake Scenic Area is the largest desert freshwater lake in China, with an altitude of around 1100 meters. The lake has a triangular shape and covers an area of 41.8 square kilometers, with seven seasonal rivers flowing into it. The average depth of the lake is about 8.2 meters, with a maximum depth of 12 meters. The region's continental monsoon climate gives it a unique natural landscape. In 1995, Red Lake Alkaline Lake was designated as a provincial-level scenic spot in Shaanxi Province and currently meets the national "AAAA" level scenic spot standards.
