Introduzione

Stone Culture Park is a comprehensive museum and ecological park that offers a complete experience of Jeju's stone culture. It is set to be fully completed in 2020. The first phase of the park, which includes Jeju Stone Museum, Jeju Stone Culture Exhibition Hall, and traditional thatched houses, was completed and opened to visitors on June 3, 2006. Located in front of the unique natural heritage of Jeju, the Olleum small volcano, the park provides a walk along a low slope on a stone-walled outline, offering beautiful views of the surrounding area. At the main entrance, visitors can see stone sculptures depicting the legend of Sogemeontai Pabo and the Five Hundred Generals. Walking through the stone circle and along the shaded path, they will come across the museum and traditional thatched houses. Notably, the museum is not built on the ground but is located underground, creating a unique and harmonious experience with the surrounding environment. The outdoor exhibition area displays 48 stone grandfathers and protective pagodas, which are believed to ward off evil and misfortune. Additionally, it showcases the symbol of Jeju's "three nothings" culture, the "Dingnang" (a traditional gate used in old times), allowing visitors to fully experience the history and natural beauty of Jeju.
