Introduction
Hunza is composed of several villages. The capital here is Karimabad (2439m), located near mountains and with beautiful surroundings. Four peaks - Rakaposhi, Ultar, Balimo, Diran - reaching over 7000 meters, create a spectacular and rugged landscape. The towering Karakoram Range can be clearly seen from a very close distance. The cultural and educational level here is relatively high, and there are also a relatively large number of elderly people with long lifespans. Among the five globally recognized longevity zones, one is Hunza in Pakistan, and the others are the Caucasus in the former Soviet Union, Vilcabamba in Ecuador, Xinjiang and Tianshui in China, and Bama in Guangxi. Interestingly, the Shangri-La region described in "Lost Horizon" was actually created based on Hunza. After borrowing the name from Hunza, the local region of Zhongdian also became famous as Shangri-La. Retour en haut
