Exploring Xi'an's Lesser-Known Gem - The Five Peaks of Qinling Mountains

Many people say that all the attractions in Xi'an are in the downtown area or Lintong. Little do they know that on the south side of this city, there are more hidden gems, including the "Qinling Mountains".

Ao Mountain

Ao Mountain, also known as West Taibai, has an altitude of 3476 meters and is the second highest peak in Shaanxi Province, facing the highest peak, Taibai Mountain, from afar. To climb the mountain, you need to find the climbing entrance, among which the 23-kilometer entrance of Ao Mountain is notable. The name '23 kilometers' comes from the fact that there is a forestry protection station at this point, which is also 23 kilometers away from the old military station.

Bingjing Peak

Bingjing Mountain Peak, with an altitude of 3015 meters, is the highest peak in the eastern Qinling Mountains. It is located between Zhuque Mountain and Taiping Mountain in Huxian County, Xi'an City. At the top, there is a stone tablet inscribed with 'Peak of Qinling'. From the top of Qinling, you can see Dongliang and Shouyang Mountain in the distance, and nearby you can see Paomaliang, Lujiaoliang, and Guangtoushan.

Mount Taibai

Mount Taibai, the highest peak of the Qinling Mountains. Known for its high altitude and treacherous terrain, it serves as the dividing line between northern and southern China. In winter, climbing Mount Taibai quickly is the most challenging among the ten peaks of the Qinling Mountains, and it also boasts the highest scenic index.

Lujiao Liang

The most beautiful ridge in the eastern Qinling Mountains. Perhaps my understanding of the Qinling Mountains is still limited, but I have always thought that Lujiao Liang's 'southern cliffs and northern forests', Ao Mountain's 'moon surface', and Taibai Mountain's 'four Taibai pools' can be considered the three most beautiful places in the Qinling Mountains.

Shouyang Mountain

Shouyang Mountain, a famous peak on the northern slope of the Qinling Mountains. Standing at the top of the peak and looking eastward, the sun rises gradually, welcoming the first ray of sunlight, hence the name Shouyang Mountain.
