Einführung

Lancaster Castle is located on the banks of the River Lune in Lancashire, England. It is a round medieval-style castle and is a well-known tourist attraction in Lancaster. Its history dates back to the Roman occupation period. Later, around 1164, the castle underwent extensive expansion and was primarily used as a prison. However, during the years 1322 and 1389, the castle was repeatedly invaded and plundered by Scottish armies, causing damage to it. During the English Civil War, the status and role of Lancaster Castle were greatly enhanced due to the Lancaster family's involvement in the "War of the Roses" (their emblem being a red rose), and extensive reconstruction took place.
