Xianshanhu Scenic Tourist Area is located at the westernmost end of Changxing County, where the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Anhui expressway, Hang-Chang expressway, and Xuan-Hang Railway converge. Xianshanhu Scenic Tourist Area is 30 kilometers away from Anji County, 85 kilometers away from Hangzhou, 170 kilometers away from Shanghai, and 200 kilometers away from Nanjing. It is adjacent to Anji, known as the "Bamboo Town" of the province, and borders Guangde County in Anhui Province to the west, with the mountains separating it from Jiangsu to the north. Its regional position is very advantageous, and the transportation conditions are quite convenient. Xianshanhu Scenic Area consists of Xianshan Mountain and Xianhu Lake. "A mountain does not have to be tall to be named after immortals." Xianshan Mountain is 162 meters high and has a shape similar to Mount Fuji in Japan. It covers an area of ten square kilometers, and despite not being tall, it offers panoramic views of three provinces. Although not vast, the mountain is lush, full of vitality, and has ancient and mysterious stories associated with it. Particularly, the story of the prince of the Silla Dynasty who became a monk here after the political upheaval in the Silla court during the early Tang Dynasty adds infinite charm to Xianshan. The saying "First there was Xiaoxianshan, then there was Jiuhua" originated from this story, meaning that the Bodhisattva Dizang of Jiuhua Mountain came from Xianshan, making Xianshan the ancestral home of Bodhisattva Dizang. "A lake does not have to be deep to be inhabited by dragons." Xianhu Lake is located on one side of Xianshan Mountain, with a water area of about 10 square kilometers. A long embankment divides the entire lake into two parts, south and north. On the embankment, willow branches sway gently, resembling the Su Causeway of Hangzhou's West Lake, with crystal-clear and shallow water. The lakefront is gentle and the shore is wide. Below Xianhu Lake, there is a mysterious ancient river channel and a long-lost ancient village named "Jinxing" corresponding to astronomical phenomena. Equally mysterious as Xianshan and Xianhu is the presence of an ancient animal called the "Chinese Yangtze Alligator," known locally as the water monitor lizard, which is a national-level endangered protected animal in China. Due to the excellent natural environment of Xianshanhu, not only are waterbirds nesting here, but even rare swans have settled here, which is a rare natural ecological phenomenon. Xianshanhu Scenic Area is the most convenient gateway to enter the ecological corridor of northwest Zhejiang. From here, you can reach Anji's "China Bamboo Sea," "Zhu Bo Park," "Canglong Bai Pu," "Tianhuangping Hydropower Station," and "Central and Southern Herb Garden"; and to Lin'an's "Taihu Source," "Qingshan Lake," "Northwest Zhejiang Grand Canyon," "Daming Mountain," "Shi Great Wall," and "Tianmu Mountain"...all of these amazing places.
