The Ningxia Museum, as a provincial comprehensive historical museum in China, was previously located in the Chengtian Temple in Yinchuan City. The new museum is now divided into three main sections: a general history section, a special exhibition section, and a temporary exhibition section, displaying a total of twelve exhibitions. These exhibitions complement and contrast each other, presenting the history and culture of Ningxia and its unique regional characteristics from multiple angles. The first floor has a visitor service hall and a temporary exhibition hall. In the "Stone Carving History Book" rock painting exhibition hall, you will feel like you have traveled back to ancient times. Although most tourists go to Helan Mountain to admire ancient rock paintings, here you can see more rock paintings from the Ningxia region, many of which are not often noticed or visited by visitors. The second floor presents the "Ningxia General History Exhibition Hall," which is also one of the museum's key areas. The treasures on display here include the Western Han Dynasty's gold, silver, and bronze goat, Tang Dynasty's Hu Xuanwu stone door fan, Western Xia Dynasty's gold-plated bronze cow, figure steles, and protruding nail glass bowls. In addition, you can also see rubbings of the "Liangzhou Restoration of Guosi Temple Gantong Tower Inscription," written in Western Xia script, which looks more like square characters than Chinese characters. The third floor presents the "Returning Home Style Exhibition," which mainly includes historical records and various collections of the Quran, making it a great place to learn about Muslim culture and Islamic history.

Shapotou Tourist Area is located on the southeastern edge of the Tengger Desert in Ningxia.
