Introduction
In the early 20th century, many Japanese immigrants settled in the Orient Street. Over time, this street located in the city center was gradually transformed into a Japanese style, from street lamps to buildings, and several Buddhist temples and a Japanese garden were built, and the image of Brazil gradually disappeared. In addition to descendants of Japanese people, many descendants of Chinese and Korean people also live in the Orient Street. The street center includes two streets, Rua Galvão Bueno and Rua São Joaquim, and Praça da Liberdade Square. Every year during the Spring Festival, local residents will set up a stage on the square and hold a two-day celebration for the Chinese New Year. In addition, there is an event every June to celebrate the traditional Japanese way of Tanabata Matsuri. Transportation Take Line 1 of the subway and get off at the Liberdade station.
