Introduction
MASP is one of Brazil's most important art museums, located in the center of São Paulo, and is a representative modern building. The collection consists mainly of South American art, with over 8,000 works from the 13th century to the present, with the Western art collection being the largest in Latin America, mainly composed of works by French and Italian painters. In addition, there is a huge garden around the museum that was modeled after French Baroque style, and in front of it is Independence Square and a monument commemorating the 100th anniversary of Brazil's independence. The famous design of the School of Paris is another well-known feature, with the museum's exhibition halls supported in mid-air by four large red concrete columns.
