Introduction
Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is a vast water area in the northern part of the Ipanema district connected to the Atlantic Ocean, known as the "heart of Rio". It is surrounded by middle and upper class residential areas, and during Christmas, a giant floating Christmas tree is lit up on the lake. In addition to its beautiful scenery, the lake is also a great place for water sports such as kayaking, and there is a 7.5-kilometer bike path along the lakeshore. Some of the sea events of the 2016 Rio Olympics were held here. Transportation Subway: Line 1, Cangalo Station.
