Introduction

When you arrive in Rio de Janeiro, do not miss out on the Estádio do Maracanã, the largest sports stadium in South America, with a capacity of 105,000 people. It is the home stadium for four local football clubs: Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Vasco da Gama. The Maracanã stadium hosted the FIFA World Cup final in 2014 for the second time, the first being in 1950 when Brazil lost to Uruguay 2-1 at home. To this day, it still displays the footprints and signatures of Brazil's most famous football stars, including Pelé.
