Introduction
"The Moon Valley," located 10 kilometers outside of La Paz city center, is not a true valley, but rather a towering sandstone forest containing a variety of minerals that give it a range of colors, including beige, red, and deep purple. Visitors feel as though they are on an alien planet. There are various tour options available, including English-speaking tours offered by travel agencies. Self-guided tourists can take a Colectivo from the San Francisco Church in La Paz city center to Mallasa for only 3 bolivianos each way or take a taxi round-trip for around 30 bolivianos.
