Introduction
Hells Gate Geothermal Park is the most active geothermal reserve in Rotorua, covering over 20 hectares. The natural geothermal landscape trail, which stretches for 2.5 kilometers, provides visitors with an opportunity to explore the geothermal wonders in depth. The park is filled with various geothermal features, including geysers, hot mud pools, sulphur crystals, and thermal pools. It was also the filming location for the orc-stirring scenes in the movie "The Lord of the Rings," and attracts tourists seeking to reenact the scenes. Visitors can also follow the trail used by the Maori people to traverse the park and view the largest hot water waterfall in the southern hemisphere, the Kakaahi Falls. Additionally, the Hells Gate Geothermal Park offers New Zealand's unique mud bath pools, one of Rotorua's most famous mud baths. Tourists can apply warm mud on their skin and enjoy the sensation of a deep cleansing, after which they can jump into the sulphur pool sourced from the geothermal hot springs. This special spa experience leaves the skin hydrated, smooth, and comfortable, with every pore feeling deeply relieved. Address 351 State Highway 30, Tikitere, Rotorua
