Introduction

Along the coast of Geelong, there are over a hundred beautiful sculptures created by artist Jan Mitchell. Each of these sculptures has a unique story behind them, waiting for travelers to discover with their walking and viewing abilities. Spanning the coastline, there are a multitude of wooden figures of varying themes and sizes. Originally used as boat mooring ropes, they became a canvas for artists to create a variety of wooden figures. Among them are commemorative sculptures for WWII lovers, as well as volunteer military bands. They all have bright colors and unique features, making for perfect photo opportunities for tourists.
