Introduction

The Mount Field National Park, located in the northwest of Hobart, is one of the oldest national parks in Tasmania. It only takes an hour's drive from Hobart city centre. There are many hiking trails of different lengths for hikers to choose from here, ranging from less than an hour to several days, which can be arranged according to personal physical condition and time budget. The most characteristic attractions in the park are Russell Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls, which take 20 minutes, 30 minutes and 2 hours respectively to walk between, and are the must-visit places in the park. In addition, there is also Lake Newdegate, a small lake surrounded by green trees in the mountain, which has different scenery in different seasons and requires a 6-hour round-trip hike. If you choose to drive, you can park your car at the visitor centre, pay for parking and walk to various attractions, or you can book a one-day tour route in Hobart City.
