Introduction

The Victoria State Art Gallery is divided into the Australian Pavilion and the International Pavilion, with the former located on the north bank of the Yarra River in Federation Square, and the latter adjacent to the Cultural Arts Center on the south bank of the Yarra River. If you are interested in Australian art and culture, this is definitely a great place to go. The national art gallery houses over 20,000 Australian artworks, ranging from the colonial era to the present day. The Australian Aboriginal paintings on the first floor are particularly amazing, although the paintings may look very abstract, with a deep understanding of the symbols and symbolic meanings of the Aboriginal people, the information contained in the paintings can be gleaned.

10:00-17:00, closed every Tuesday and on Fridays before Christmas and Easter.

Located in Federation Square, opposite Flinders St Station, walk 100 metres along Flingers St after leaving the station and you will arrive at St.Kilda St.
