Introduction

Cockatoo Island, located on the coastline of Sydney, is a historically significant island. Situated at the confluence of Parramatta River and Lane Cove River, it is only a 10-minute waterway ride from Circular Quay. The island's historical relics have been well preserved, once home to a prison and shipyard for criminals, it still retains many workshops and large machinery, in stark contrast to the city center of Sydney.
