Introduction

The Australian Museum is located on College Street in Hyde Park, Sydney, and is one of the world's top exhibition halls, as well as the largest natural history museum in Australia. Founded in 1827, it was the first museum in Australia and was originally named the "Museum of the Colonists". It was later renamed to its current name in 1929. The museum's collection is very rich, including various animal and plant specimens, fossils, minerals, items related to anthropology research, and items related to environmental science. Exhibits include the history, culture, and crafts of Australian indigenous peoples, as well as unique Australian flying birds, fish, insects, and shell fossils. The museum is one of the internationally renowned institutions for natural history and indigenous research and is also the largest natural history museum in Australia.
