Introduction

Boston's Chinatown is the only Chinatown in New England and the fourth largest in North America. It's located in downtown Boston and covers an area of about five acres with nearly a hundred shops. The gateway to the Chinatown bears the quote of Sun Yat-sen: "The world is for all," while the reverse bears the quote of Chiang Kai-shek: "Courtesy, justice, modesty, integrity." Boston is one of the gathering places for Chinese people, with nearly 100,000 Chinese settled in the greater Boston area.
