Introduction

Walking from Rue St-Joseph to Rue de Buade, about 50 meters on the left, you will see a splendid Baroque-style cathedral - the Notre-Dame de Québec Cathedral. Built in 1633, this is the oldest church in North America (north of Mexico), which has suffered from numerous fires and earthquakes and was renovated in 1925. The Baroque architectural style and the two different shaped spires on the left and right are its biggest features. On the north side of the cathedral, there is also the Quebec Seminary (Seminaire de Quebec) and the old Laval University.
