Introduction

Coal Harbour is a community located between downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park, adjacent to Lost Lagoon and Highway 99 in British Columbia. The area was named after coal seams discovered by a British exploration ship on the south shore of Burrard Inlet in 1859, and was called "Coal Harbour". Since the 1980s, industrial land on the south shore of Coal Harbour has been gradually converted to residential use, and it has now become a community between Cardero Street and Canada Place.
