Introduction

Anfield stadium is located in the Anfield area of Liverpool, England. It is a four-star stadium of the European Football Union and also the home of Liverpool Football Club. Anfield used to be the home ground of Everton Football Club and was later recovered in 1892 to establish Liverpool Football Club. Anfield has previously hosted the 1995 friendly match between England and Sweden, as well as the group stage and semi-finals of the 1996 European National Cup. In 2001, the rebuilding of Wembley Stadium resulted in the England World Cup qualifying match against Finland being played at Anfield, which was highly praised by the English Football Association for its facilities. The stadium can accommodate 45,362 people, making it the sixth largest stadium in the UK.
