Introduction

"The Newton's Apple Tree" is located in Woolsthorpe Manor, Newton's hometown, and is a highly credible apple tree, which is said to have dropped the apple that hit Newton's head. In 1820, a storm caused the tree to break into pieces. However, in 1998, Dr. Keys from the University of York proposed a new argument that the old tree of "Newton's Apple Tree" had produced new branches, indicating that the apple tree had grown for more than 350 years. Woolsthorpe Manor still retains the protection order issued by Queen Elizabeth.
